Statement Marking the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
March 21, 2021– On the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Alliance for Shared Values joins the United Nations and the international community in repudiating all forms of racism and intolerance.
In memory of the horrific 1960 Sharpeville massacre in South Africa, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is an opportunity to recommit to creating a global culture of equality and anti-discrimination that respects the dignity and worth of every individual. Hate, prejudice and racial discrimination have no place in society.
As incidents of racial discrimination plague communities around the world, we must continue to stand up to racism and advocate for human dignity and universal human rights.
