Statement by the Alliance for Shared Values on Targeting of Asian-Americans
March 18, 2021– The Alliance for Shared Values—and Hizmet participants around the United States and the world—stands in solidarity with the Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in mourning the tragic loss of eight lives in the Atlanta area based in what appears to be racial targeting.
Hate and racism have no place in society, and the perpetuation of stereotypes and gender inequality only fuels the continued targeting of different groups, whether through physical or verbal attacks.
We must continue our shared striving toward tolerance, equality and peace. As members of the Hizmet community we remain committed through our activities and actions to promoting a society in which every human is seen as equal, just as they are seen by God.
