Fethullah Gulen’s Message to Those Affected by Hurricane Harvey
September 1, 2017 – I am deeply saddened by the damage and loss of life caused by Hurricane Harvey in recent days. As the people of Houston and its surrounding areas seek shelter, I encourage all Americans to keep the victims of this tragedy in their thoughts and prayers.
Amid the tragedy caused by the hurricane and the dangerous conditions that still persist, I am heartened by people’s efforts to help their neighbors and by members of emergency response agencies and local officials going beyond their regular duties to assist the victims. I urge all Hizmet participants, and people of all backgrounds across the country, to assist with the relief efforts through their prayers, volunteerism and financial contributions.
I extend my sincere condolences to the families and friends of all those who lost loved ones during catastrophe. I pray to God that he helps the people of Texas recover and rebuild in the shortest time possible.
