Fethullah Gülen’s Message of Condolences for Maulana Wahiduddin Khan
April 24, 2021– I learned with deep sorrow the news of the death of Maulana Wahiduddin Khan, one of the prominent Islamic scholars of India, a peace advocate, a lover of the Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad (may peace and blessings of God be upon him), and a sincere representative of the Ahl as-Sunnah Wal Jama’ah, the path of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) and his righteous companions (may Allah be pleased with them all).
I pray to Allah Almighty to reward him with the Garden of Firdaws in Paradise, and I pray for good health and patience for all his loved ones, especially the members of the family and his students.
Wahiduddin Khan was one of the true opinion leaders of the Muslims of India and he represented Islam with dignity inside and outside of his country. He worked to serve Islam and humanity in the modern world with his knowledge of religious sciences, positive sciences and languages. He prepared translations in English, Hindi and Urdu for a better understanding of the Quran. He strived for the establishment of social peace between Muslims and Hindus in India, as well as for the end of wars and for a global era of peace to prevail in the world.
With more than 200 works he published, the students he educated, his efforts for peace in his own country and the world, he left behind a beautiful legacy as he walked to the horizon of his soul. As long as those who benefit from his works, his students and their students are alive, God the Most Compassionate will not close his book of deeds.
I send my sincere condolences to all his students, family members, loved ones and to world Muslims.
