We strongly condemn the attack on the author Salman Rushdie and his host while speaking at the Chautauqua Institution and wish him a quick recovery.

Although Rushdie offended the Muslim world with his past writings on the Holy Qur’an that all Muslims hold sacred as the revealed word of God, attacking him to prevent his speaking is deplorable and deserves only condemnation.
